Hi, I am Belinda Fettke.
I am a wife and mother of 3 grown children.
I was a registered nurse in a past life.
After 13 years as a stay at home Mum, I ventured back into the workforce as the PR Marketing photographer for Scotch Oakburn College for 8½ years. This involved covering every aspect of school life, in which I immersed myself and loved that I could capture kids being kids in a state of the art educational facility. I could celebrate their achievements, their friendships and their growth to mature young adults. It was a very precious time and I learned so much about photography and ventured into Social Media.
I began my own photography business BPhotography over 7 years now.
I consider myself a storyteller and am drawn to passionate, creative people … hence my bi-line “the Art of Storytelling”. I want to capture memories and share stories through the visual medium of photography. I especially love photographing people and consider myself lucky to do something I love as ‘work’.
I find inspiration in the simple things around me, in love, in family and in amazing literature. To convey an emotion and feel something real from an image or written words is incredible to me.
I look for light to see where it falls and the shadows it creates. I find textures intriguing.
I love to laugh and I sing whenever I feel like singing. I sing to my steering wheel regularly on long drives – it makes me happy!
I am humbled by the wonderful people I have met through my work, my photography, my association with the Australian Institute of Professional Photography (AIPP) and allied resources. Humbled that I have permission to capture the deep essence of true emotions and precious moments in time. Often these moments can’t be repeated. I am honoured to capture people’s stories and thankful that I can share them.
While I specialize in wedding photography, family and children’s portraiture I also photograph pregnancies, newborns and pets. I am happy to go to special places for my client portraiture, somewhere that has true meaning for them.
I take time to perfect my craft, to know what I love and to be inspired and inspire others.
I am proud of the work I produce.
I am an Artisan.
Newborn Photoshoot at Low Head with Sun, Surf, Sand and a Lighthouse _ BPhotography
Such amazing weather for my recent photoshoot up at Georgetown with the beautiful Bell and her partner Daniel, Baby Ryder and Tyrone. A perfect summer day and despite the coolness in the air at 8.30am, we headed off to the beach and got some beautiful images around Low Head and the Lighthouse and down near the Pilot Station. Thank you for such a lovely morning, Bell – so precious and fun. xx
Being a New Parent comes easily to Pip and Adam_BPhotography
I am so excited to share in the next chapter of Pip and Adam’s lives. I photographed their wedding in 2012 and now join them to celebrate the Birth of Evelyn Lark Glover. Such a precious little babe.
I entered their home and embraced the calmness. Little Evie was sound asleep in Pip’s arms while we set up a ‘time warp’ photo.
A handmade blanket, knitted by Evie’s Grandmother.
An old fashioned alarm clock set at 7.25 (the time Evie was born)
A bird on wire sculpted from found timbers and carved lovingly by Pip’s uncle.
Shells from holidays, collected and saved and loved. We used one to mark Evie’s height on against a ruler.
A cute whimsical calendar to mark her date of birth.
Handmade lettering spelling out Evelyn and placed on a small roll of hessian to tie the theme altogether.
Adam strummed the guitar to settle Evie as the shoot went on and I just had to capture a little of them on film.
Congratulations Pip and Adam. You have been blessed with a beautiful daughter and I am so looking forward to watching her grow with your love.
Before Young Adults Move Away from Home is the perfect time for a Photoshoot
The Holmes’ decided that it was an important occasion to have all the family together this Christmas and made the most of the opportunity by booking in a family portrait on their farm in Northern Tasmania. I always love getting to meet new people and quickly work out relationships and different characteristics of each one.
It was an awesome photoshoot and I can’t thank them enough for allowing me to share in an afternoon and photograph them all at home. xx
Awesome Photoshoot with Jess and her Girlfriends on the Family Farm _ BPhotography
Heading off to uni to study interstate is a big move after finishing school in Tasmania. Moving away from home, leaving behind family and friends you have made over years. What a gorgeous idea to have a photoshoot with these friends to hold onto memories for a lifetime.
I just loved this opportunity to photograph Jess and her girlfriends’ spending the afternoon at Jess’s farm, enjoying time together and doing what girls do best. Laugh and have fun.
Thank you to her Mum Jenny, for being so welcoming and a big thank you to the girls; Jess, Grace, Alice, Anna & Jesse and Jess’s sister Rachael. Such a gorgeous afternoon. xx
Gorgeous Pregnancy Photoshoot with Amelia & Matt _ BPhotography
I love photographing new beginnings, whether that is an engagement/wedding or a pregnancy photoshoot. There is just so much love between the couple I am photographing and I immerse myself and get caught up in their excitement and smile with them.
Amelia was 34 weeks pregnant when I photographed she and Matt. They were so lovely and receptive to my thoughts and ideas in consultation with theirs, despite a little hesitation on Matt’s face when he saw me turn up with balloons! I photographed them in the most beautiful setting, completely private and they could just be themselves. The balloons were a great prop for the setting and they helped relax them both with me. There is always those first few moments when you meet someone for the first time. If I use a prop it gives me the opportunity for a little directing and gentle encouragement and fun before I start photographing them more intimately together.
Just loved this photoshoot and I am so excited to share the images. Thank you Amelia, Matt and Peppa, their dalmatian.
BPhotography … the Art of Storytelling
Just wanted to share my first automated clip of Instagram ‘Highlights’ that I have posted in the last 14 weeks since I joined the platform. All images are taken by me except for the Lightening Strike image in the Grand Canyon which I shared on my Instagram page. This image was taken by Rolf Maeder and is truly incredible.
I love that I can share these images. Thanks to my wonderful clients and the family cat for being a part of my first short ‘Vine’.
Family Portrait fun with the Watson Family_Launceston
This was my fourth photoshoot with the gorgeous Watson family and I can’t wait for more 🙂 It is exactly the sort of photography I love. Spending time with families in their home and telling their story. Capturing moments of laughter and fun and the beautiful relationship that intertwines between them all.
A cheeky smile
Cuddles with teddies, reading stories, palying with lego and all the inside things they love to do.
Backyard (or should I say ‘street’) Cricket was so much fun. I couldn’t get over Ben, their three year old, bowling incredibly to his big brother, James who then managed to hit the ball many times for a six! Including one straight at me :-))) Kate watched on intrigued …
Loved it so much thank you Lea and Rob!!
xx
Social Media Planning for 2014 all sorted thanks to Simon & Michelle Frost
I was interviewed following the Social Media Planning workshop I recently attended. Just thought I’d share it :-))
Belinda Fettke from BPhotography – talks about Social Media Planning Workshop
Last week I spent a day with Michelle and Simon Frost from Michon International working out a Social Media Plan for 2014 with 9 other people who like me, have small businesses based in Launceston. It was fascinating to talk to these people including Lynne Davies from Davies Grand Central, Damien Ivereigh from Launtel, Ken Upchurch and Andrew Lovitt from AutoRent-Hertz, Felicity Crowthers from Pro3Products, Jane Oakley-Lohm from Launceston Bed and Breakfast retreat, a couple of physiotherapists, Anne King an Environ Skincare/beautician from the Bladerunner, Charles and Jackie Cox, another local photographer 🙂
I highly recommend getting your head around the use of Social Media for any Small Business. It was a great opportunity for us all 🙂
A fun Engagement Photo Shoot in and around The Charles
A very special thank you to Gavin and Ria for asking me to photograph their Engagement Session recently. We decided to stay around The Charles, Launceston where they have an apartment and use the spaces in and around it to make the shoot very much ‘their story’. It was quite cool and raining, but that didn’t stop us from having fun and making the most of the stunning views up into West Launceston as a backdrop to the photos I took of them in the middle of the road 🙂
Loved my Multi Generational Photoshoot with Helen and her Family.
I love that I get to be a part of a family for so long, capturing milestones and important dates as well as very special sessions like this one I did for Helen and her family. I started photographing Lyndsey and Paul when they were school students at Scotch Oakburn College and I was the Publicity/Marketing photographer there. I loved watching them grow up and now I get to do the same with Lyndsey’s daughter Aggie 🙂
This is Aggie’s 2nd photoshoot, the other was just days after she was born. Helen wanted a family portrait session at their home near Cressy because both her children will be living interstate this year and they have decided to sell the farm and move closer to town. I was truly honoured to be asked to take these photographs and look forward to watching Aggie become a young girl over the next few years.
Beautiful family 🙂
